First HF setup, TS830 and MFJ tuner. Trusty SPR-4 at the top and AOR7030+ in front of the keyboard

First upgrade, IC746PRO replacing the TS830 and no tuner required.

Well, I was kicked out of the house into a spare room at the back, more room and not so intrusive noise-wise! There is a Kenwood TL-922A at right (ex-ZL4PO) which is hardly ever used, and an MFJ-989C on top. Photo by Petr OK1FRG.

Ham IV rotor and lower thrust bearing assembly.

Lower thrust bearing assembly... top thrust bearing similar principle

My old monobanders, Hygain 20m at the top and home-brew 17m below.

Base of the vertical, showing porcelain earth busbar where all radials etc are tied together, coupler, earth stake and coax choke.

The vertical, "blending in" with Linda's lovely garden!

Replacing the rubber couplings on the SteppIR. SteppIR changed to a Mission brand coupling which I had on my antenna, though they didn't last. One of the element tubes fell down, fortunately no damage was sustained. The boots were replaced with much heavier duty Fernco units, which I wrapped in self amalgamating tape and I also added a stainless steel security wire between the two hose clamps for further protection. Thanks to John Clements for allowing me use of the bucket truck.
